β€ͺExcoriating people for objectionable opinions doesn’t change minds, it merely drives those thoughts underground away from the sunlight where they can be examined.

It’s like Dale Carnegie said: a drop of honey gathers more flies than a gallon of gall.

Today, it’s not just SFO that’s having “visibility” issues, it’s Seattle, too. πŸ˜‘

@skematica pretty much

Now that we told the homeowners association we removed a tree today, they want us to add one back. Considering how many trees are already on our property and the one we removed could have caused property damage to multiple houses πŸ˜’

@evefavretto I’m sure the Z Play will be horrible in some other way. πŸ˜‘

@i70dan I've bought many Android phones in the last two months. The Samsung S8+ has its own special emoji. The other phones are low-end running Lollipop and Marshmellow.
@phoneboy
Summarizing the answers I've gotten to my Android emoji question:

1. Emoji? My age is two digits
2. Root your phone and accept potential goatse
3. Deal with it

It's the same answers I get to most of my Android questions. iOS sucks too, but less.
@phoneboy
@literary The way emoji looks varies widely depending on which handset you're using. Like the OS itself, emoji are rarely updated, if at all. Don't like what's there? Either root your handset or buy a different one which likely has equally shitty emoji.
@phoneboy
Apparently, it's widely known how much of a shitshow emoji is on Android [blog.emojipedia.org]
@phoneboy
@igmp_join Googles keyboard? Yeah, no. I could try swiftkey but still, it’s another way Android is inferior to iOS.
@phoneboy
How do people emoji on Android? Every handset is different and short of rooting your phone, you're stuck with whatever your handset maker put there.

Because the TSA wants to inconvenience travelers more, we now have to take our electronics larger than a mobile phone out at screening checkpoints [arstechnica.com]. Unless you have TSA Pre-Check and the lane is open, of course.

@TheDimPause to be fair ChimpNut had support when it was an ADN client so it’s probably not a ton of work for @ludolphus to put it back in. πŸ‘πŸ»

@i70dan Whether you want to or not :P

@33MHz The appeal for me is: it's a lot easier to control particularly recurring payments on my end. It's also the way I receive certain types of compensation. It's also not something my wife looks at closely. :P
