@33MHz is @wife watching it with you?
// @bondman
@blumenkraft
@bondman yes! :)
// @33MHz
@Wife
@blumenkraft yep, I talked him into it after hearing about it here. And I really like it. Haven't read the books, but probably will now. /@bondman @33MHz
@33MHz
@shawn nope, just saw folks posting here about it. :)
@shawn
@33MHz the books are fantastic, some of my favourite space fiction. I think they're much better than the scope and budget of the series can portray.
@hybotics
@shawn The Expanse is great! :) :)

@Wife @blumenkraft @33Mhz I think I'm going to dive into the audiobooks. Sounds fantastic! Add one more to my growing Audible wish list. :-)
@blumenkraft
@bondman @Wife @33Mhz i didn't even know thre are books. :)
@bondman
@blumenkraft a lot of TV/movie shows are based on books. And, IMO, the books are better 90% of the time. @33Mhz @Wife
@bondman
@blumenkraft but, to be fair, books have more time for character/universe development. And it's hard to compete with the reader's imagination. 🤔💭 @33Mhz @Wife
@Wife
@bondman yeah, I often find myself watching a film or show and thinking "I want to read this book" but rarely find myself reading a book and hoping it gets made into a film. /@blumenkraft
@bondman
@Wife yeah, the "problem" is that one needs to invest far more time to read the book(s) than to simply watch the movie/TV show. Going by audiobook timing, the average book is about 12-15 hrs of reading condensed into a 2 hr movie. @blumenkraft
@Wife
@bondman they also engage you in very different ways. It's a lot harder to eat popcorn and fold laundry while holding a book. ;) @blumenkraft
@bondman
@Wife hehe. True. But if you go for the audiobook version, you _can_ do those things! :-)
(I routinely listen to books while mowing the lawn and other chores/errands.) @blumenkraft
@bondman
@Wife but I get what you mean. I love movies. But for different reasons than my affection for the written word. 😊 @blumenkraft
@blumenkraft
@bondman @Wife i'm kind of dyslexic, so reading makes me tired very fast. i almost always sleep in while reading. :-/
@bondman
@blumenkraft what about audiobooks? Have you tried them before? @Wife
@blumenkraft
@bondman i have live like a million audio books, yes. :) they are awesome indeed. but there are also a million podcasts worth listening. days need to be longer!
// @Wife
@bondman
@blumenkraft yes, there lies the dilemma! Both of my audiobook and podcast queues grow faster than I can consume them. There would need to be many more hrs in a day to get caught up! @Wife
