@33MHz Xanga? That's still a thing!! My wife and I would never have met save for Xanga. >.>
@bayprogrammer
@33MHz I was at a Barnes and Noble a week or two ago and was browsing the computer section and ML & Data Science caught my eye. I've not done anything yet, just higher on my radar now. :)

@33MHz ah cool!

@33MHz Pardon my ignorance, but what are the Scottish Games?
@bayprogrammer
@33MHz setting up lean configs to use with Arch (and other similar distros). Running dwm from suckless and liking it so far. You?
@bayprogrammer
mksh seems to me to be very well done; learning so much from its manpage, and the sample .mkshrc is pretty sweet! Get a lot of bang for very little buck (measured in memory usage). https://www.mirbsd.org/mksh.htm

It's a lovely day, and I'm going to spend it indoors hacking.

@33MHz Night!
@bayprogrammer
@33MHz yah, I got that impression too. There's a youtuber who was doing a pretty neat series with Minetest which he modded the heck out of. Gave me a better idea what was possible at least.
@bayprogrammer
@mikehoss Ah cool! I'm always amazed by what the kids do in MC!
@bayprogrammer
@33MHz yah, I think I'd have trouble playing anything older than the adventure update (meat-pops, jungle/desert temples, etc.) Minetest is actually pretty neat though! yet incomplete without a number of mods.
@bayprogrammer
@mikehoss These days, honestly, I think I'd be alright sticking with older version of Minecraft anyway. I don't hate the new stuff (parrots, haunted mansions, terracotta), but I'm not in love with it either.
@bayprogrammer
@mikehoss That's okay, I care as much about Microsoft and what they do as they care about me and my use of Linux. :) / @33MHz

Aaand, as soon as I write that, I figure it out. Needed to change the virtual graphics card used by my VM. Once I switched to Virtio for graphics, everything works. Woot!
@bayprogrammer
I cannot figure out how to get xrandr to set my VM's screen (where I'm working out my new configs) to be the fullscreen I want to match the LCD it's being displayed on. Endgame is to transfer this setup to metal, but in the mean time it'd be nice to have.
@bayprogrammer
@33MHz Just you, me, my wife, and my four children. :P / @mikehoss
@bayprogrammer
Starting fresh with my dotfiles/configs. Been working on a VM to experiment with an ultra-minimalist Arch setup. Have the "suckless" suite installed automatically-- along with everything else. So far so good.
