@unixb0y Aye, that it is. Even more so when you get some extras. 😎
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y That is true. Once one acquires enough knowledge and experience, any kit will undoubtedly just be a starting point.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y 😁👍

@schmidt_fu Sounds like awesomeness in the making! 👍

And remember, kids;
Exposed circuitry with flashing LEDs and a 7-segment clock/countdown timer looks like a bomb to "normal" people.

@unixb0y Neato is basically a synonym for neat, cool, awesome, nifty, nice. I might be overusing it a bit.

OctoPrint is starting to sound more and more like a guaranteed upgrade later on.👍
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y Neato! From what I can tell, OctoPrint is a really solid upgrade for any compatible printer.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y Been reading about octoprint, which appeals to me, since I'm a complete Raspbery Pi nerd.

@unixb0y I frequently confuse things. I blame parenthood and lack of proper sleep for years. 😂

@peemee Sounds awesome! @unixb0y

@scott Thank you! Now I can save that time for something better.

@Andrew Classic! 👍

@unixb0y The price point is a big factor, but from what I've seen the performance is really impressive too. Also nice to be able to upgrade to the dual extruder later on. I might be remembering wrong, but with the upgrade even aluminum should be printable.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y That's my thinking too. It's like furniture from IKEA, which I like, so a kit is what I'll get.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y Alas, I have yet to invest in one. Looking at the market and there are a lot of printers out there, and many of them are very impressive.

I'm saving up to get something like the Tevo Tarantula, as it seems like it'll do most of the stuff I want.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y Ah, excellent points! If that is the case, I feel more confident in the material choices. Thanks for the info! 😁👍
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y So far it's portable devices, so they needed survive out in the world when I'm moving around.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y Thinking about device housing, so mostly relatively simple box-like shapes. Lots of things to consider, as you mentioned with the thermal characteristics and the mechanical durability.
@Streakmachine
@unixb0y As the most knowledgeable person I know in 3D-printing, what is the most durable plastic one can print?
